A phone’s battery is experiencing a decline in its performance over time. Its lifetime depends on usage, number of charge cycles, and phone maintenance.
So how do you check the health of your iPhone battery?
* Warning signs that warn you about changing iPhone battery:
Chemical aging of lithium-ion batteries decreases their autonomy: over time, the maximum capacity of the battery decreases, which means that you can no longer fill it 100%. Its maximum performance (peak power) is also reduced, and its resistance increases, which leads to a drop in the voltage at the battery terminals and affects its overall operation.
The following signs may indicate a problem with your phone’s battery:
– reduce the battery holding time for charging to a few hours or even a few minutes;
– Slow running of applications.
– Decreased speaker volume.
– The battery is prone to overheating.
These problems are exacerbated when the weather is cold or the battery is low on charge.
Where can I find the level of battery wear?
IPhone battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity after 500 full charge cycles under normal use.
Since iOS 11.3, the system allows you to check battery status by going to Settings> Battery> Battery Health.
Indicates the battery’s maximum capacity as well as whether or not dynamic performance management is activated. If the capacity is below 80% or if an alert message appears in the “Optimum Performance” tab, this is a sign that your battery is running out.
Applications to know when to change your iPhone battery
If your iPhone is older than iOS 12, you can download a dedicated battery analysis app, such as Battery Life, Battery Testing, or Battery iDoctor. CPU-x allows you to query iPhone system information, including battery level, capacity, voltage, and wear rate.
Please note: If you have iOS 12 or later, these apps will not be able to determine the level of battery wear.
In all cases, it is highly recommended to change your iPhone battery. There are also toolkits and tutorials for replacing the battery yourself, but this requires a certain skill.
