What performance and what autonomy?
A first benchmark that appeared stealthily on GeekBench allows us to learn more about what will drive the future OnePlus 8T. According to this bench spotted by MySmartPrice, the OnePlus 8T would unfortunately ignore the Snapdragon 865+ – the latest high-end chipset from Qualcomm – and instead opt for a Snapdragon 865, the chip that was already found in the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. This SoC would be coupled with 12 GB of RAM, and on the score side, we would end up with 3,843 points in single core and up to 11,714 points in multi-core, which is much more than the OnePlus 8 Pro, however equipped of the same chip. These feats would be more to seek the software optimization of OnePlus, which would propel its smartphone among the most powerful on the market, even to match Apple’s iPhone 12 and its A14 chip. The smartphone would indeed run on Android 11 with the manufacturer’s OxygenOS 11 overlay. Finally, Snapdragon 865 requires, we will immediately find compatibility with 5G.
On the autonomy side, the OnePlus 8T could be entitled to a 4,500 mAh battery, just like the OnePlus 8 Pro. We can therefore expect substantially the same battery life, even if the brand could manage to improve it through software optimization. You can also expect super-fast Warp Charge at 65W.
